DealDotCom.com went live last week. It is similar to Woot! but for affiliate marketing and information marketing related products, PLR articles, ebooks, that sort of thing. The idea is every day until midnight they will offer an incredible deal on one product. Right now they have Product Domination Blueprint for $7.66. The sales letter page for Product Domination Blueprint lists it for $7.95, so I guess its not such a huge “deal”, but on higher priced products the deals will be a lot more compelling (e.g. a $97 product for something like $40 for the day).

It’s a pretty sweet affiliate program setup. When you sign up for Deal Dot Com, you will receive lifetime commissions on any sales made by any affiliates who you refer. You also receive lifetime commissions on any future sales by anybody you refer for a sale. So if they click on your link to get to the site and buy a deal today, and come back in a year and buy something else, you get the commission on it. The commission structure is 35% on tier 1 aka your queen bees and 15% on tier 2 aka your worker bees.

Its a pretty nice looking site and you can submit your own information marketing related products to offer through the site. I’ve never really been into the information marketing product-creation game, but now I’m tempted to put together my own “information product” to market and submit to Deal Dot Com.

Message boards and forums on the internet can be addictive and a great source of ideas. But its important to make sure you are putting as much effort as possible into building and maintaining your portfolio of sites. Its easy to fall into the trap of surfing forums and spending your free time reading about doing something as opposed to actually doing it. You will never learn and earn unless you do it. Forums like DigitalPoint and SitePoint and others are good resources, but I usually try to limit my surfing time otherwise its easy to blow an entire evening without making progress on the sites. There is a lot to do when it comes to niche identification, keyword research, building sites, planning the marketing, setting up and monitoring PPC ad campaigns, especially for the larger sites that need custom coding and whatnot. Better to spend your time doing these things and do a scan of the forums at a set time.

We’ve finished building out our ringtones website that we started on the show, and I took it a bit further and expanded it across half a dozen domains now. We got setup with a number of affiliate programs, and we setup our first AdWords ad campaign with a couple of ad groups and quite a few ad variations to try and capture some traffic. We’ll expand the PPC campaign to Yahoo! and hopefully we’ll start seeing some decent CTR and conversions.

We’ve been really busy this last week here at The BigMeep Show. I delayed Episode Three as I work to improve the production quality and squeeze in some extra content. We’ve made a lot of progress on our “ringtones empire”, built out our sites and landing pages and whatnot, setup our ad campaigns, and now we are waiting to see the results as the traffic increases. Currently we are running our PPC exclusively on AdWords but will expand this to Yahoo! over the next few days.

I’ve been spending a lot of time writing original content for our various website projects, researching niches and market segments, doing keyword research, and pulling together data as I plan our portfolio build out. We now have a well organized strategy that will be executed over the next few months on the show!
